Star has several parks. These are the places that best fit the story we’re telling here and give residents different ways to enjoy the community.
Freedom Park
Freedom Park sits near the Boise River and includes natural walking areas and two stocked ponds. The west pond includes the floating dock known as Dockzilla, with convenient kayak and paddleboard access.
Bringing your own paddleboard? Ask the worker at the rental area whether the air-compressor attachment is available.
Star Riverwalk Park
The Star Riverwalk provides public access to a scenic path along the Boise River. Visitors can enjoy river views, wildlife, shaded seating, picnic areas, fishing access, and a quieter side of Star.
Hunter’s Creek Sports Complex
Hunter’s Creek is a major gathering place for youth and adult sports, with ball fields, open grass, a walking path, outdoor exercise equipment, and the Tom Erlebach Skatepark.
Pavilion Park
Pavilion Park is a strong all-around neighborhood park with pickleball and basketball courts, a splash pad, restrooms, an adaptive playground, and the enclosed Waggin’ Tails Dog Park.

Hometown Celebration
Star’s Fourth of July Hometown Celebration is built around a full day of community traditions, including the parade, family activities, food, entertainment, and a fireworks finale.
